Becoming Strangely Good.

Influenced both by graffiti art and traditional Chinese painting, Lawrence uses ink and watercolor to create whimsical worlds where inanimate objects come to life and surprising creatures reveal their inner selves.

The idea of Strangely Good began when Lawrence and his wife Lisa were expecting their first child. Every visit to the doctor’s office painted a comparison between the baby and a piece of produce. As their little one grew from a blueberry to a sweet potato to a head of cabbage, Lawrence began to imagine a universe where food had faces. And personalities. And dreams.

Now that baby #2 has entered their lives, Lawrence and Lisa have brought that idea to life and launched Strangely Good. Because isn’t that a good explanation for the realities of parenthood — It’s strangely good! We hope these strange little worlds bring you great big bundles of joy.
